Speeding Up Time to Production - Automated IBM i Application Testing
There is a growing requirement for IBM i shops to develop, modify and test applications quickly and reduce time to production. However, many IBM i applications are monolithic and complex making it difficult for developers to make changes to these applications without the need for rigorous testing. Automation is key to adapting rapidly and getting key changes implemented quickly.
Fresche's end-to-end testing suite, which includes X-Datatest and the newly-released X-Replay, reduces risk by enabling developers to test the UI, business logic and changes made to tables. X-Datatest helps prepare data for testing, create test cases, automates regression testing and integrates with IBM’s Code Coverage to validate the completeness of your test. Together, the solutions form a highly effective IBM i application testing suite.

Join Ray Everhart to learn :
  • Best practices for automated end-to-end testing
  • Technical demo of X-Replay for automated 5250 UI testing
  • X-Datatest for test data management, regression testing and Code Coverage

DevOps on the IBM i – Client testimonial: Acushnet
It’s been over a decade since the foundational principles of DevOps first spread through the distributed-systems development space. The Agile approach to developing, testing, releasing, and operating applications is making its way into more traditional infrastructure, like IBM i, and the benefits are clear. Organizations are finding their developers are more comfortable using this model and that it facilitates greater collaboration across teams, but many others don’t know where to start.

In this session, we’ll discuss with Acushnet (global leader in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of performance-driven golf products) many reasons to move to DevOps, how the approach integrates across IT departments, and what pitfalls they have seen—and survived—as they’ve rolled out DevOps for IBM i.
